Another upset was a game between Gaz Metan (5-6) and Timba Timosoara (3-9), which took place in Medias. Higher ranked Gaz Metan was outleveled at home by twelfth ranked Timba Timosoara 85-64 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gaz Metan. Serbian power forward Danilo Mijatovic (207-83) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Timba Timosoara's coach Bogdan Murarescu felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Belarusian-Russian Aliaksandr Pustahvar (202-85) replied with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian guard Doug Plumb (194-88, college: Minn.St.-Mankato, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Gaz Metan. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Timba Timosoara maintains twelfth position with 3-9 record. Loser Gaz Metan dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. Timba Timosoara will face higher ranked Craiova (#11) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
