Giessen 46ers (#2) forced the game against s Oliver Baskets (#1) into an overtime, but lost by eleven points 71-82 on Saturday night. The game took place in Giessen. But the guests from Wuerzburg were better at the end. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Giessen 46ers. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 19-12 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 11-point victory in overtime. Center Darren Fenn (208-80, college: Canisius, agency: LUMANI 10.7) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four s Oliver Baskets players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Cameron Wells (186-88, college: Citadel) with 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and guard Eric Palm (188-87, college: McKendree, agency: I.D.S. Law) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. s Oliver Baskets have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-2 record. Giessen 46ers at the other side keep the second position with five games lost. s Oliver Baskets will face Kirchheim Knights (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Giessen 46ers will play against BV Chemnitz 99 (#13) and hope to win that game.
