Rather predictable result in Bursa where seventh ranked Gelisim (8-4) beat 11th ranked Final Genclik (4-8) 86-79 on Saturday. Final Genclik was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 31-22 charge of Gelisim, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Erhan Yetim (204-87, agency: Octagon Europe) who had a triple-double by scoring 11 points, 16 rebounds, 11 assists and 5 steals. American point guard Derek Williams (185-85, college: SMU) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Cihad Sahin (203-83) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Reginald Holmes (193-87, college: Morgan St., agency: Two Points) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five Gelisim and four Final Genclik players scored in double figures. Final Genclik's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gelisim have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Akhisar Bld. Loser Final Genclik dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. Gelisim will face Akhisar Bld (#5) at home in the next round. Final Genclik will play against the league's second-placed Sakarya BSB (#2) in Sakaraya and hope to win that game.
