Very important is a road loss of second ranked DRUFF! (8-6) against fourth ranked AstroStars (8-6) on Saturday night. Visiting DRUFF! was defeated by AstroStars in Bochum 82-65. AstroStars shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 63.6 percentage. Guard Felix Engel (191-91) fired 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Jimmy Sherburne (191-91, college: Princeton) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Sherburne is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four AstroStars players scored in double figures. Lars Lagerpusch (203-98) produced 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Robin Amaize (188-94) added 9 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. AstroStars moved-up to second place in Group North, which they share with Recklinghausen and Braunschweig. AstroStars will face Recklinghausen (#4) on the road in the next round. DRUFF! will play against RSV Eintracht and hope to win that game.
