Rather expected game in Varna where 8th ranked Chernomorets (1-9) was crushed by fifth ranked Cherno More (6-5) 113-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cherno More. Chernomorets managed to win second period 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cherno More shot 69.2 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. Cherno More looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Chernomorets' players. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Asen Velikov (187-86) who scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Serbian power forward Miljan Pupovic (210-83) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian center Dejan Bjelic (209-90) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and forward Lyuben Paskov (197-90) added 20 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Five Cherno More and four Chernomorets players scored in double figures. Chernomorets' coach Radostin Ivanov gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Cherno More moved-up to fourth place. Chernomorets lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. Cherno More will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chernomorets will play against Yambol (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
