Regular Season Round 14: Art.Dragons - Brose Bask. 56-76
Date: December 20, 2014
The game in Quakenbrueck supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Brose Baskets (11-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Artland Dragons (8-6). Brose Baskets did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 76-56 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-56. Brose Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Artland Dragons' players. American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) notched 15 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and American-Nigerian power forward Trevor Mbakwe (207-89, college: Minnesota) supported him with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. Even 14 points by American guard Antonio Graves (191-85, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Two Points) did not help to save the game for Artland Dragons. His fellow American import forward Lawrence Hill (203-87, college: Stanford) added 9 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brose Baskets have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with B.Muenchen. Artland Dragons lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Telekom Bsk. Brose Baskets will meet at home league's leader ALBA Berlin in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Artland Dragons will play against the league's second-placed Bayern Muenchen (#2) and hope to secure a win.
