A very close game took place in Istanbul between Gediz and Istanbul DSI. Ninth ranked Gediz (7-5) got a very close victory on the road over 13th ranked Istanbul DSI (3-9). Gediz managed to escape with a 2-point win 83-81 on Saturday evening. Five Gediz players scored in double figures. Gediz's coach Deniz Atak allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Surinamese-Dutch guard Charlon Kloof (190-90, college: St.Bonaventure) with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Bulgarian forward Musa Gunes (200-85) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Gediz moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Socar Petkim. Loser Istanbul DSI dropped to the fifteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with I.T.U.. Gediz will meet at home Adanaspor (#9) in the next round. Istanbul DSI will play against Denizli (#3) in Pamukkale and hope to secure a win.
