Regular Season Round 14: Ludwigsburg - EWE Baskets 93-99

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked EWE Baskets (9-4) defeated on the road 15th ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (4-10) 99-93. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But EnBW Ludwigsburg won fourth quarter 29-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely EnBW Ludwigsburg outrebounded EWE Baskets 41-26 including 20 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was swingman Rickey Paulding (196-82, college: Missouri) who scored 18 points and 7 assists. Power forward Adam Chubb (208-81, college: Pennsylvania) chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. EWE Baskets' coach Sebastian Machowski allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman D.J. Kennedy (198-89, college: St.John's) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and forward Jon Brockman (201-87, college: Washington) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. EWE Baskets maintains fifth position with 9-4 record. EnBW Ludwigsburg lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with ten games lost. EWE Baskets' next round opponent will be TBB Trier (#13) on the road and are hoping to win another game. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play against Mitteldeutscher BC in Weissenfels and hope to win that game.
