Regular Season Round 11: Banvit BK - Besiktas 80-81

The most exciting game of round 11 in the TBL took place in Balikesir. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 8th ranked Banvit BK (6-5) to fourth ranked Besiktas (8-3) 81-80 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 20-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Besiktas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) who scored 23 points. Australian-Dutch forward Ryan Broekhoff (200-90, college: Valparaiso, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. American-Bulgarian point guard Earl Rowland (188-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) produced 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Montenegrin power forward Vladimir Dragicevic (206-86) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. Banvit BK's coach Zoran Lukic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Besiktas have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Banvit BK at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Besiktas is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Eskisehir Basket (#16) in Edirne in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Banvit BK will play on the road against Turk Telekom (#11) in Ankara and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
