Regular Season Round 19: Dnipro - Cherkasy 88-73

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Dnipro (9-8) beat 6th ranked Cherkasy (8-8) in Dnepropetrovsk 88-73 on Saturday. The game without a history. Dnipro led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-89) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Vitali Malchevskiy (204-87) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. American point guard Cameron Rundles (185-88, college: Wofford) came up with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals and naturalized Moldovan Andrii Kalnichenko (201-86) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Cherkasy in the defeat. Five Dnipro and four Cherkasy players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Dnipro went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser Cherkasy keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Ferro-ZNTU. Dnipro will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cherkasy will play against Halychyna (#11) and hope to secure a win.
