Regular Season Round 19: P.Zvaigzdes - Lietkabelis 94-82

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked P.Zvaigzdes' (7-10) home victory over 9th ranked Lietkabelis (5-12) in Pasvalys 94-82. P.Zvaigzdes made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. P.Zvaigzdes outrebounded Lietkabelis 38-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Michael Dixon (185-90, college: Memphis) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import power forward Alex Oriakhi (206-90, college: Connecticut) helped adding 15 points and 9 rebounds. Five P.Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized Canadian point guard Evaldas Zabas (188-88) responded with 22 points and the former international forward Dainius Salenga (197-77) scored 17 points and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. P.Zvaigzdes moved-up to seventh place. Lietkabelis at the other side keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. P.Zvaigzdes will play against higher ranked Dzukija (#6) in Alytus in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lietkabelis will play at home against Siauliai and hopes to get back on the winning track.
