Regular Season Round 19: Hoverla - Khimik 79-90

Superleague top team - Khimik (16-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat tenth ranked Hoverla (4-12) in Frankivsk 90-79. The game was mostly controlled by Khimik. Hoverla was better in second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Ramone Moore (193-89, college: Temple) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 7 assists. His fellow American import point guard Derek Needham (180-90, college: Fairfield) helped adding 14 points and 8 assists. At the losing side American point guard Mackey McKnight (183, college: Lehigh, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with 14 points and 9 assists and point guard Sergei Alferov (189-84) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Khimik have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-0 record. Hoverla lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. Khimik will play against league's second-placed Budivelnyk in Kyiv in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hoverla will have a break next round.
