Regular Season Round 20: Cherkasy - Halychyna 86-70

Very expected game when 11th ranked Halychyna (1-16) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Cherkasy (9-8) 86-70. The game was mostly controlled by Cherkasy. Halychyna was better in fourth quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cherkasy players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The winners were led by forward Igor Krivtsov (201-86) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and naturalized Moldovan Andrii Kalnichenko (201-86) supported him with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists by guard Nikola Polyulyak (192-90) did not help to save the game for Halychyna. Belarusian point guard Oleksandr Dolenko (191-90) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cherkasy moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Dnipro and BC Kyiv. Halychyna lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Cherkasy will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Halychyna will play at home against Hoverla (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
