Regular Season Round 20: BC Odessa - BC Kyiv 100-81

The most important game in the last round took place in Odessa between third ranked BC Kyiv (9-8) and eighth ranked BC Odessa (6-10) on Friday night. BC Kyiv was crushed by BC Odessa on the road 100-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of BC Kyiv. The game was mostly controlled by BC Odessa. BC Kyiv managed to win second period 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded BC Kyiv 45-33 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. BC Odessa shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by BC Kyiv's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Klym Artamonov (186-93) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists and swingman Denis Noskov (202-90) who added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five BC Odessa players scored in double figures. The former international Ruslan Otverchenko (192-90, agency: Beo Basket) responded with 25 points and 4 steals and swingman Pavlo Krutous (195-92) scored 19 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BC Odessa maintains eighth position with 6-10 record. BC Kyiv at the other side dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Dnipro and Cherkasy. BC Odessa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BC Kyiv will play on the road against the league's leader Khimik (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
