An interesting game took place in Weissenfels where higher ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (7-7) was upset on its own court by sixteenth ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (5-10) 78-66 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. EnBW Ludwigsburg dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Mitteldeutscher BC's 26. They outrebounded Mitteldeutscher BC 34-21 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American swingman D.J. Kennedy (198-89, college: St.John's) who scored 29 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Kerron Johnson (185-90, college: Belmont) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian forward Simonas Serapinas (197-82) who recorded 16 points and American swingman Patrick Richard (196-90, college: McNeese St., agency: KMG Sports Management) added 10 points respectively. Mitteldeutscher BC's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. EnBW Ludwigsburg moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Mitteldeutscher BC lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. EnBW Ludwigsburg will meet at home higher ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#11) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mitteldeutscher BC will play against the league's leader ALBA Berlin where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
