Rather expected game in Ankara where 13th ranked Tofas (4-9) was edged by tenth ranked TED Kolejliler (6-7) 79-76 on Saturday. Tofas was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 27-20 charge of TED Kolejliler, which allowed them to win the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. American guard Clay Tucker (196-80, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) stepped up and scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American-FYR Macedonian point guard Marques Green (165-82, college: St.Bonaventure) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. At the losing side American swingman Lamar Patterson (196-91, college: Pittsburgh) responded with 14 points and 6 assists and the other American import point guard DaShaun Wood (185-85, college: Wright St.) scored 13 points and 5 assists. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. TED Kolejliler moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Trabzonspor and Torku Konyaspor. Loser Tofas dropped to the fourteenth position with nine games lost. TED Kolejliler will face higher ranked Karsiyaka (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tofas will play against Usak (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
