Regular Season Round 18: Kapfenberg - Zepter Vienna 82-84

The most exciting game of round 18 in the A Bundesliga took place in Kapfenberg. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (11-7) to second ranked Zepter Vienna (13-5) 84-82 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 32-20 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Zepter Vienna made 27-of-30 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game, while Kapfenberg Bulls only scored eleven points from the stripe. 24 personal fouls committed by Kapfenberg Bulls helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). The former international Jason Detrick (195-80, college: Oklahoma, agency: Three Eye Sports) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Nicchaeus Doaks (201-87, college: Chattanooga) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks and his fellow American import swingman Ian Boylan (197-83, college: CS Northridge) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists in the effort for Kapfenberg Bulls. Five Zepter Vienna and four Kapfenberg Bulls players scored in double figures. Zepter Vienna keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Gmunden. Kapfenberg Bulls at the other side keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Zepter Vienna will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kapfenberg Bulls will play again on the road against the league's second-placed Zepter Vienna (#2) in Wien and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
