Regular Season Round 21: Halychyna - Hoverla 61-75

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked Halychyna's (1-17) home loss to tenth ranked Hoverla (5-12) 61-75 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Hoverla. Halychyna managed to win second period 23-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hoverla dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Halychyna's 22. Hoverla forced 22 Halychyna turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Sergei Alferov (189-84) who scored 18 points. Point guard Igor Boyarkin (185-95) chipped in 15 points and 7 assists. Four Hoverla players scored in double figures. Hoverla's coach Evgeni Murzin used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Belarusian point guard Oleksandr Dolenko (191-90) who recorded 17 points and 7 rebounds and guard Nikola Polyulyak (192-90) added 8 points, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively. Hoverla moved-up to ninth place. Halychyna lost their tenth game in a row. They stay dead last with 17 lost games. Hoverla are looking forward to face higher ranked BC Kyiv (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Halychyna will play against the league's second-placed Budivelnyk (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
