Ligaen top team - Bakken (12-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked Aalborg (0-14) in Aarhus 111-52. The game without a history. Bakken led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aalborg to just 2 points in first quarter. Bakken dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Aalborg's 26. Bakken forced 22 Aalborg turnovers and outrebounded them 45-21 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Aalborg's players. Guard Sebastian Petersen (187-95) scored 6 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international swingman Thomas Laerke (195-91) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Bakken players scored in double figures. American forward Demetrius Phillips (207-87, college: Bridgeport) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Rune Lauridsen (191-88) scored 14 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bakken have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-1 record. Aalborg at the other side still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Bakken will play against Vaerlose (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aalborg will play against Naestved and hopes to get finally their first victory.
