Very expected game when 10th ranked BG Goettingen (7-9) was defeated at home by fifth ranked EWE Baskets (10-5) 91-79 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 11 points at the halftime before their 49-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American point guard Casper Ware (178-90, college: Long Beach St.) fired 26 points for the winners. The other American import guard Chris Kramer (191-88, college: Purdue) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) produced 12 points and 6 rebounds and guard Andrew Onwuegbuzie (192-95) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Five EWE Baskets and four BG Goettingen players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. EWE Baskets moved-up to fourth place. BG Goettingen lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. EWE Baskets will face Telekom Baskets (#6) in Bonn in the next round. BG Goettingen will play at home against BBC Bayreuth and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
