Regular Season Round 16: Bremerhaven - Braunschweig 74-76

A very close game took place in Bremerhaven between Braunschweig and Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. Thirteenth ranked Braunschweig (6-10) got a very close victory on the road over 14th ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (5-11). Braunschweig managed to escape with a 2-point win 76-74 on Tuesday evening. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 23-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Derrick Allen (203-80, college: Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) who added 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Lorenzo Williams (187-84, college: Rice) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and DR Congolese-American swingman Moses Ehambe (198-86, college: ORU, agency: KMG Sports Management) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Braunschweig moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Walter Tigers. Braunschweig will meet at home higher ranked Artland Dragons (#7) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play against the league's leader ALBA Berlin (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
