The game between seventh ranked P.Zvaigzdes (9-10) and 8th ranked Tonybet (6-12) in Pasvalys on Tuesday ended with biggest points difference. P.Zvaigzdes outscored guests from Prienai 95-74. P.Zvaigzdes outrebounded Tonybet 47-29 including a 35-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when P.Zvaigzdes made 10 blocks. American guard Ben Brust (188-91, college: Wisconsin) notched 20 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Alex Oriakhi (206-90, college: Connecticut) supported him with 13 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). P.Zvaigzdes' coach Mantas Sernius felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 21 points and 4 assists by point guard Ovidijus Varanauskas (187-91) did not help to save the game for Tonybet. Power forward Giedrius Staniulis (205-91) added 14 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. P.Zvaigzdes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Dzukija. Tonybet lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. P.Zvaigzdes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tonybet will play against Juventus (#4) in Utena and hope to secure a win.
