Regular Season Round 22: Juventus - Neptunas 79-85

An interesting game for Neptunas (16-2) which played road game in Utena against 4th ranked Juventus (12-7). Second ranked Neptunas managed to get a 6-point victory 85-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Juventus. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 47-40 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. 31 personal fouls committed by Juventus helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Simas Galdikas (205-87) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Justas Sinica (203-85) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Neptunas' coach Kazys Maksvytis used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Vaidas Cepukaitis (208-89, agency: Interperformances) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and forward Arvydas Siksnius (196-87, college: Weatherford JC) added 14 points in the effort for Juventus. Four Juventus players scored in double figures. Neptunas maintains second position with 16-2 record having just -1 point less than leader Zalgiris. Juventus at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Neptunas are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Mazeikiai (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Juventus will play against Tonybet (#9) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
