A very interesting game took place in Bursa. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 15th ranked Tofas (4-10) to thirteenth ranked Usak (6-8) 80-77 on Saturday evening. Tofas was ahead by 9 points at the halftime before a 29-16 third quarter run of Usak. They made 25-of-30 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. 29 personal fouls committed by Tofas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. Point guard Chris Warren (178-88, college: Mississippi) notched 13 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee services) supported him with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Usak players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 5 assists by point guard DaShaun Wood (185-85, college: Wright St.) did not help to save the game for Tofas. Center Brian Qvale (210-88, college: Montana) added 15 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Usak moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Tofas lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with ten games lost. Usak's next round opponent will be higher ranked Karsiyaka (#6) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Tofas will play against Banvit BK (#5) in Balikesir and hope to win that game.
