Regular Season Round 15: Aistes-LSU - H-Sirenos 76-72

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kaunas: Aistes-LSU (#4) and Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas (#6). Aistes-LSU (9-6) won against visiting Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas (5-10) 76-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 22-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Aistes-LSU made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for international power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) who led her team to a victory with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Monika Petrauskaite (182-92) contributed with 21 points for the winners. The former international guard Rasa Zemantauskaite-Matla (176-81) answered with 17 points and forward Akvile Baronenaite (185-93) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas. Five Aistes-LSU and four Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas players scored in double figures. Aistes-LSU moved-up to third place, which they share with Kibirkstis-VICI. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Aistes-LSU is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Ruta-Univ. (#8) in Siauliai in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas will play at home against the league's leader Utena and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
