Regular Season Round 15: Sakarya BSB - Istanbul DSI 77-64

There was no surprise in Sakaraya where 13th ranked Istanbul DSI (4-11) was defeated by third ranked Sakarya BSB (12-3) 77-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sakarya BSB. Istanbul DSI managed to win third quarter 26-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Istanbul DSI to just 7 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Istanbul DSI 40-17 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American LaceDarius Dunn (193-87, college: Baylor, agency: Three Eye Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Franklin Hassell (203-88, college: ODU) helped adding 15 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Surinamese-Dutch guard Charlon Kloof (190-90, college: St.Bonaventure) with 17 points and 5 assists and Czech Kamil Svrdlik (205-86, college: Fair Dickinson) scored 11 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Sakarya BSB maintains third place with 12-3 record behind leader Denizli. Istanbul DSI at the other side dropped to the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Afyon and Pertevniyal. Sakarya BSB will meet Adanaspor (#7) on the road in the next round. Istanbul DSI will play against Mersin (#18) and hope to secure a win.
