We should mention about the upset which took place in Lisboa, where higher ranked Benfica B (4-4) was outleveled in a road game by tenth ranked Atletico (2-7) 81-55. The game without a history. Atletico led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Benfica B to just 7 points in second quarter. Atletico dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Benfica B's 22. Atletico forced 20 Benfica B turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Benfica B helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Hugo Aurelio (-80) notched 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international swingman Joao Manuel (192-79) supported him with 19 points. Four Atletico players scored in double figures. Even 18 points by swingman Sergio Silva (193-96) did not help to save the game for Benfica B. point guard Joao Carlos Soares (179) added 10 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Atletico maintains tenth position with 2-7 record, which they share with Sangalhos. Benfica B at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost.
