Regular Season Round 16: Ruta-Univ. - Aistes-LSU 50-87

Bottom-ranked Ruta-Univ. (0-16) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 16th consecutive match to fourth ranked Aistes-LSU (10-6) 87-50 on Tuesday evening. The game without a history. Aistes-LSU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ruta-Univ. to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Aistes-LSU shot 20 for 33 from the free-throw line, while Ruta-Univ. only scored four points from the stripe. Aistes-LSU forced 29 Ruta-Univ. turnovers. International power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) fired 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Neringa Skadaite (179-92) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Aistes-LSU's coach Laimonas Eglinskas felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Silvija Kuodiene (180-81) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and Belarusian guard Krystsina Turomsha (168-92) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Aistes-LSU have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Ruta-Univ. still closes the standings. Aistes-LSU will meet league's leader Utena on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ruta-Univ. will play against the league's second-placed Suduva (#2) in Marijampole and hopes to get finally their first victory.
