Regular Season Round 22: Mykolaiv - Dnipro 64-78

An interesting game for Dnipro (11-8) which played road game in Mykolaiv against 4th ranked Mykolaiv (9-8). Third ranked Dnipro managed to get a 14-point victory 78-64. The game was mostly controlled by Dnipro. Mykolaiv managed to win third quarter 14-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dnipro shot 61.5 percent from the field. Dnipro had a 30-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Sergiy Zagreba (214-94) contributed with 19 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Dnipro's coach Valdemaras Chomicius used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Alexander Sizov (199-88) replied with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Anatoliy Shundel (194-93) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Mykolaiv. Dnipro maintains third position with 11-8 record having six points less than leader Khimik. Mykolaiv at the other side dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. Dnipro will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mykolaiv will play on the road against Cherkasy (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
