No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Delikatesas (13-12) beat 10th ranked Zalgiris II (11-14) in Kaunas 75-70 on Friday. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 20-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Delikatesas dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Zalgiris II's 24. Delikatesas forced 28 Zalgiris II turnovers. Strangely Zalgiris II outrebounded Delikatesas 42-29 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Zilvinas Petraitis (194-88) nailed 30 points for the winning side and guard Sarunas Kulevicius (194-89) accounted for 21 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Martynas Varnas (196-97) came up with 15 points and the former international guard Vidas Ginevicius (194-78, agency: Interperformances) added 12 points respectively for Zalgiris II in the defeat. Zalgiris II's coach Tomas Masiulis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Delikatesas moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Palanga and Nafta-Uni. Zalgiris II lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Delikatesas will meet at home Zanavykas (#9) in the next round. Zalgiris II will play against Silute and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
