The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Ezerunas-Karys (19-6) in Sakiai on Friday night. Visitors were edged by ninth ranked Zanavykas (12-13) 79-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ezerunas-Karys. The hosts trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 24-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Ezerunas-Karys helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Sarunas Vingelis (191-89) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Guard Paulius Malasauskas (188-91) contributed with 11 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. They share it with Perlas-MRU. Zanavykas are looking forward to face higher ranked Delikatesas (#8) in Joniskis in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ezerunas-Karys will play at home against Vilniaus (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
