Leader Sf.Gheorghe delivered the fifteenth victory. This time they crushed 12th ranked Craiova (3-14) 110-47 in Sfantu Gheorghe. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Craiova. The game without a history. Sf.Gheorghe led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Craiova to just 6 points in second quarter. Sf.Gheorghe dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Craiova's 28 and made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Sf.Gheorghe forced 23 Craiova turnovers and outrebounded them 48-20 including a 34-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Craiova's players. American power forward Stefanie Murphy (192-89, college: Boston Coll.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Taneisha Harrison (182-89, college: Pittsburgh) contributed with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Sf.Gheorghe players scored in double figures. Sf.Gheorghe's coach Zoran Mikes felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Irina Bors (178-88) answered with 12 points and 6 rebounds and guard Adina Pop (173-88) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Craiova. Sf.Gheorghe (15-2) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place. Craiova at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Cluj Napoca. Sf.Gheorghe will play against Alexandria (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Craiova will play against Galati (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
