Very expected game when 10th ranked Targu Mures (6-11) were defeated at home by sixth ranked Galati (11-6) 77-65. The game was mostly controlled by Galati. Targu Mures was better in fourth quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Galati outrebounded Targu Mures 52-40 including 40 on the defensive glass. American center Chelsey Lee (193-89, college: Rutgers) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 24 rebounds and 4 assists. International swingman Romina Filip (174-89) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American Stanecia Graham (187-86, college: Washburn) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import guard Antoinette Thompson (170-90, college: TCU) added 19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Targu Mures. Galati moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Alexandria. Targu Mures lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. Galati will play against Craiova (#12) in Craiova in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Targu Mures will play on the road against Brasov and hope to get back on the winning track.
