There was no surprise when 9th ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (2-18) were defeated at home by second ranked Zepter Vienna (15-5) 85-74 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-74. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Amin Stevens (201-90, college: Florida A&M) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and the former international Jason Detrick (195-80, college: Oklahoma, agency: Three Eye Sports) who added 22 points during the contest. Five Zepter Vienna players scored in double figures. Croatian Marko Car (188-85) responded with 29 points and Lithuanian center Tautvydas Slezas (207-90, agency: Interperformances) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Zepter Vienna have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Gmunden. Furstenfeld Panthers lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with UBSC Graz. Zepter Vienna will meet at home Arkadia Lions (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Furstenfeld Panthers will play against yourgoody Dukes in Klosterneuburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
