Regular Season Round 11: Hatay - Fenerbahce 65-74

Date: January 11, 2015
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Fenerbahce (8-3) beat on the road 13th ranked Hatay (1-10) 74-65 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-12. But Hatay won second period 23-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fenerbahce looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American players dominated the game. Angel McCoughtry (187-86, college: Louisville) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points. Center Tina Charles (193-88, college: Connecticut) contributed with 13 points and 5 assists for the winners. Center Lynetta Kizer (193-90, college: Maryland) answered with 21 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Natasha Lacy (178-85, college: UTEP, agency: Merit Management Group) added 16 points and 5 assists in the effort for Hatay. Fenerbahce moved-up to third place, which they share with Istanbul Univ. Hatay lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Fenerbahce will face Mersin (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hatay will play against Adana ASKI (#6) in Mersin and hope to win that game.
