Eleventh-ranked Halychyna (1-19) gave a tough game to sixth ranked BC Kyiv (10-10) in Lviv on Sunday. The visitors from Kyiv managed to secure only three-point victory 74-71. However their fans expected much easier game. Halychyna trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 24-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-74 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was the former international Ruslan Otverchenko (192-90, agency: Beo Basket) who scored 24 points. Power forward Maksim Sandul (207-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Nikola Polyulyak (192-90) produced 28 points and 6 rebounds and center Volodymyr Orlenko (213-85) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Halychyna's coach Maksym Fomichev tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. BC Kyiv moved-up to fifth place. Halychyna lost their twelfth game in a row. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
