Regular Season Round 17: Baunach - s.Oliver Baskets 95-98 OT

Ninth-ranked Baunach (7-10) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked s Oliver Baskets (15-2) on Sunday. The visitors from Wuerzburg managed to secure only three-point victory 98-95. However their fans expected much easier game. s Oliver Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when s Oliver Baskets made 7 blocks. 35 personal fouls committed by Baunach helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. Point guard Carlos Medlock (183-87, college: E.Michigan) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Darren Fenn (208-80, college: Canisius, agency: LUMANI 10.7) contributed with 28 points and 7 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!) for the winners. Forward Anthony Lee-Ingram (195-88, college: Brescia, KY) answered with 24 points and 6 rebounds and guard Marcos Knight (188-89, college: Middle Tenn.St.) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Baunach. Four Baunach players scored in double figures. Baunach's coach Ivan Pavic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. s Oliver Baskets have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-2 record. Newly promoted Baunach dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Kirchheim. s Oliver Baskets are looking forward to face SC Rasta Vechta (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Baunach will play against Kirchheim Knights and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
