Very expected game when 13th ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (6-11) was smashed on the road by third ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (12-5) 85-65 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Oettinger Rockets Gotha. BV Chemnitz 99 managed to win second period 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oettinger Rockets Gotha made 31-of-41 free shots (75.6 percent) during the game, while BV Chemnitz 99 only scored eleven points from the stripe. American guard Carlton Guyton (193-90, college: Kent St.) nailed 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and forward Marco Voeller (198-89) accounted for 11 points and 11 rebounds. American point guard Virgil Matthews (188-83, college: Montana, agency: Court Side) came up with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Stacy Wilson (190-90, college: Murray St.) added 15 points respectively for BV Chemnitz 99 in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Oettinger Rockets Gotha. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Giessen 46ers. BV Chemnitz 99 lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Finke Baskets. Oettinger Rockets Gotha will meet league's second-placed Giessen 46ers on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BV Chemnitz 99 will play against ETB Wohnbau (#5) and hope to secure a win.
