Second Stage Round 1: Suduva-Mantinga - Nafta-Uni. 84-79

There was no surprise in Marijampole where Nafta-Uni. (14-13) was defeated by Suduva-Mantinga (17-10) 84-79 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Nafta-Uni. was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 30-24 charge of Suduva-Mantinga, which allowed them to win the game. They made 31-of-38 free shots (81.6 percent) during the game, while Nafta-Uni. only scored ten points from the stripe. 31 personal fouls committed by Nafta-Uni. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Paulius Abramavicius (200-86) fired 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Belarusian guard Maksim Shustau (187-86) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). point guard Mindaugas Stasys (180-86) produced 16 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) and forward Dainius Vaitelis (200-86) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Suduva-Mantinga is looking forward to face Zanavykas (#7) in Sakiai in the next round. Nafta-Uni. will play at home against Trakai (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
