There was a minor upset when 9th ranked USC Leipzig (7-9) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Hertener Loewen (7-9) 72-60 on Saturday. USC Leipzig was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American Connell Crossland (201-91, college: TCU) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. The other American import point guard Deshaun Cooper (173-91, college: NW Missouri St.) chipped in 10 points and 7 assists. Hertener Loewen's coach Majdi Shaladi used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Khalil Kelley (203-91, college: Pacific) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Falko Theilig (180-92) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Hertener Loewen moved-up to tenth place in Group North, which they share with Leipzig and BSW Sixers. Hertener Loewen will face RSV Eintracht (#13) in Stahnsdorf in the next round.
