There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Mamak DSI (6-11) beat on the road 12th ranked ITU Istanbul (6-11) 86-81 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 44-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Mamak DSI made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. American guard Jason Clark (188-90, college: Georgetown) stepped up and scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and forward Mustafa Bakir Gorur (204-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Admir Aziz Kan (185-83) responded with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Jayme Miller (203-85) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Mamak DSI and four ITU Istanbul players scored in double figures. Mamak DSI moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with I.T.U. Mamak DSI will face higher ranked Gediz (#11) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
