Regular Season Round 18: Art.Dragons - TBB Trier 81-69

Everything went according to plan in Quakenbrueck where seventh ranked Artland Dragons (9-9) beat 15th ranked TBB Trier (6-12) 81-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Artland Dragons. TBB Trier was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Artland Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American point guard David Holston (168-86, college: Chicago St., agency: Priority Sports) scored 15 points and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import swingman Brandon Thomas (198-84, college: Massachusetts, agency: Three Eye Sports) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists during the contest. Artland Dragons' coach Tyron McCoy used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (207-91, agency: LUMANI 10.7) with 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Jamaican-Canadian forward Jermaine Bucknor (201-83, college: Richmond) scored 15 points. Artland Dragons maintains seventh position with 9-9 record, which they share with Fraport SKY. TBB Trier lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 12 games lost. Artland Dragons will face higher ranked Bayern Muenchen (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. TBB Trier will play against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#17) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
