There was an upset when higher ranked BG Karlsruhe (9-6) was edged at home by ninth ranked TV Langen (6-9) 87-84 on Saturday. TV Langen made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. American power forward Martinis Woody (201-82, college: Benedict) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Guard Kevin Luyeye (190-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Four TV Langen players scored in double figures. Australian-British forward Paul Brotherson (198-89, college: Metro St.) produced 25 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Jimmy Dorsey (188-89) added 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. BG Karlsruhe's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. TV Langen maintains ninth position in Group South with 6-9 record. Loser BG Karlsruhe keeps the fourth place with six games lost. TV Langen will face higher ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
