Regular Season Round 15: Rovinari - Pitesti 87-80

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Pitesti (9-5) against eighth ranked CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu (7-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Pitesti was defeated by CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu in a tough game in Rovinari 80-87. It looked good early as Pitesti took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu had a 30-17 second period charge getting the lead and Pitesti was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-87. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Pitesti's players. It was a great evening for American point guard Giordan Watson (178-85, college: Cent.Michigan) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 assists. Montenegrin Nemanja Milosevic (204-87, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Ronald Ross (188-83, college: Texas Tech, agency: LUMANI 10.7) with 30 points and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Montenegrin center Stevan Milosevic (211-85, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu moved-up to sixth place, which they share with BC Timisoara and U-Banca TR. Pitesti at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Oradea. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu will play against BC Timisoara (#7) on the road in the next round. Pitesti will play against Targu Mures (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
