Regular Season Round 18: Brose Bask. - Goettingen 94-75

Very expected game in Bamberg where 9th ranked BG Goettingen (8-10) was crushed by second ranked Brose Baskets (15-3) 94-75 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-75. Brose Baskets made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. International Daniel Theis (204-92, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Ryan Thompson (198-89, college: Rider) chipped in 23 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Raymar Morgan (202-88, college: Michigan St.) with 19 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Alex Ruoff (198-86, college: W.Virginia, agency: KMG Sports Management) scored 16 points and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brose Baskets have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-3 record having just two points less than leader ALBA. Loser BG Goettingen keeps the ninth place with ten games lost. Brose Baskets will face Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#8) in Frankfurt in the next round where they are favorite. BG Goettingen will play on the road against EWE Baskets in Oldenburg and hope to win that game.
