The game between seventh ranked Brasov (11-7) and 10th ranked Targu Mures (6-12) in Brasov on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Brasov outscored guests from Targu Mures 95-46. The game without a history. Brasov led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Targu Mures to just 6 points in first quarter. Brasov dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Targu Mures' 28. Brasov forced 19 Targu Mures turnovers and outrebounded them 45-30 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American players dominated the game. Guard Britney Jones (172-87, college: UAB) notched 39 points (!!!) and 4 assists to lead the effort and Carla Bartee (182-85, college: Mississippi) supported her with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Brasov's coach Daniel Calancea felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds by forward Vee Young (185, college: Martin Methodist, agency: Gamble Sports Management) did not help to save the game for Targu Mures. Guard Antoinette Thompson (170-90, college: TCU) added 11 points and 4 assists. Brasov have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Alexandria. Targu Mures lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. Brasov will meet Craiova (#12) in the next round where they are favorite. Targu Mures will play against Cluj Napoca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
