There was no surprise when 10th ranked Friendsfactory Germering (3-10) was outleveled at home by second ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (12-1) 82-59 on Sunday. The game without a history. Don Bosco Bamberg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Don Bosco Bamberg forced 19 Friendsfactory Germering turnovers. Quite impressive performance for Estonian guard Liisi Sokman (166-88) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Lyndi Thorman (190-90, college: UTSA) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Four Don Bosco Bamberg players scored in double figures. Don Bosco Bamberg's coach Steffen Dauer felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The former international forward Magdalena von Geyr (180-84) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Polish forward Mirela Damaschek (186) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Friendsfactory Germering. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Don Bosco Bamberg. They maintain second place in South with 12-1 record having just -1 point less than leader Osnabruck. Loser Friendsfactory Germering dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Don Bosco Bamberg will face Muenchen B. (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Friendsfactory Germering will play against the league's leader Gruner Stern Keltern and hope to win that game.
