Regular Season Round 13: Barmer TV - Hannover 64-74

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Barmer TV (6-7) lost to ninth ranked Hannover (5-8) in Wuppertal 64-74 on Sunday. The game without a history. Hannover led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Hannover shot 27 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Barmer TV only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Barmer TV 49-28 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Barmer TV was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American guard Rayven Johnson (176-91, college: NJIT) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Stefanie Grigoleit (186-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Savannah Morgan (173-92, college: Emory) answered with 12 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Mona Ehlert (181-88) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Barmer TV. Four Barmer TV players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hannover maintains ninth place in North with 5-8 record, which they share with Gruenberg. Barmer TV lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Hannover will face Hagen Phoenix (#11) at home in the next round.
