We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Leverkusen where 13th ranked Finke Baskets (6-12) were defeated by fourteenth ranked Bayer Giants (6-12) 75-62 on Sunday. The game without a history. Bayer Giants led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Jake Koch (206-90, college: N.Iowa) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Richard Carter (180-92, college: Drake) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists during the contest. Five Bayer Giants players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Thomas Bropleh (196, college: Boise St.) with 24 points and 5 rebounds and forward Morgan Grim (204-88, college: Utah St.) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Bayer Giants moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with defeated Finke Baskets. Finke Baskets lost fourth consecutive game. Bayer Giants will face higher ranked Baunach (#12) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
