Regular Season Round 13: Lemvig - Aabyhoj 79-87

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Lemvig (9-3) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Aabyhoj (3-8) 87-79. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Aabyhoj forced 20 Lemvig turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Nicole Ballestero (173-92, college: Vanguard) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Sofie Preetzmann (180-95) contributed with 22 points and 4 steals for the winners. Aabyhoj's coach Thomas Johansen used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Joanna Miller (173-91, college: Grambling St.) answered with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and forward Emily White (186-92) added 12 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Lemvig. Four Lemvig players scored in double figures. Aabyhoj moved-up to fifth place. Lemvig at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Aabyhoj will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lemvig will play on the road against Amager in Kastrup and is hoping to win this game.
